Earlier today water started gushing into the shop through one of the light fittings. It appears that not all water pipes in the cavity between our plaster ceiling and the floor above were sealed. Today, when someone turned on a tap somewhere in the centre it sent water through the pipe with a hole above our shop. Our clean environment was soon wet and dirty.
After a stressful few hours and plenty of cleaning we are fortunate to be under control. The event, of course, controlled the day. Meetings had to be canceled and work in the shop put off. For me, it was a lesson in rolling with the punches as it were, taking everything in my stride.
Ah, retail…
