I thought these car and Kombi van moneyboxes were too tacky for what I was creating with Sophie Randall Cards and Gifts. They just didn’t feel right. But each time at the wholesaler I stopped and looked at them until I thought - I should not be stocking my shop with only what I would buy.
My doubts disappeared within a few minutes of putting them on display. Now, a few weeks on, they are one of our most popular gifts for boys and boys at heart. We are restocking every two weeks and even extending the range. One woman told me they were the perfect male gift in the under $30.00 price bracket.
Now when I see them I smile because of the lesson learned.
